ANUGRAH EDMONDS
Survival guide for marriage through pregnancy and after
A thoughtful, practical guide to pregnancy and marriage by counselling psychologist Anugrah Edmonds—helping expecting parents understand each other and stay connected through early parenthood.

THE STORY BEHIND THE BOOK
A guide to marriage through pregnancy and parenthood
In my practice as a therapist, I frequently encountered women carrying deep, lingering emotional distress from their experiences during pregnancy, childbirth, and early motherhood. They were accompanied by well-intentioned but helpless husbands who deeply regretted how they had shown up during that critical time—a past that could not be changed. These couples were mostly unaware of what their spouses had needed during that time and what actions would have strengthened their marriage. They were held back by a lack of awareness. When I found myself in the same situation, I decided to interview more women about their experiences and needs during this time. The insights I gained are at the heart of this book.
A NOTE FROM ANUGRAH
Pregnancy, parenthood, and your relationship
I cannot think of any experience more life-changing than pregnancy and parenthood. It felt like stepping into a whole new existence and becoming an entirely new person. It also brought with it a wealth of life lessons and insights, which I have shared in this book.
I wrote this book to open up an honest conversation about what becoming parents can mean for a marriage. My hope is that it helps you make space for each other’s feelings, ask for the support you need, and approach this new chapter as a team.
